Mount Compass Area School is proud of its culture of care and community. The school is organised in three communities – Junior (R-6) for children; Middle (7-9) for young adolescents and Senior (10-12) for emerging adults, within a framework of R_12 support and expectations. This enables us to better meet the developing needs of our students within a familiar and secure environment. A significant number of students join us at Year 8 for their secondary schooling and a planned programme of support and a friendly student body, ensure they are quickly at home. A planned transition programme from the local preschool also supports Reception students to begin school confidently. The school has three core values: Respect, Participate and Achieve.

Current enrolment is approximately 400.

Particular features of the school’s facilities are: the Information Technology access for students; the 19Ha Focus Farm; the boardwalk in 9Ha of Heritage Wetlands; specialist areas for Agriculture, Art, Technology Studies, Media, Food and Hospitality, Home Economics, Performing Arts; and a Gymnasium. We have a shared-use agreement with the Community Centre and use the Memorial Oval during school hours in addition to the School Oval.

We welcome voluntary help from the community members for a diverse range of activities, in a friendly supportive environment.

The school’s newsletter is uploaded to our website regularly and may be viewed at:
